ClickOnce does not support mandatory user profiles

When attempting to install a ClickOnce application when using mandatory user profiles, you may receive an error message similar to the following:

  • The manifest may not be valid or the file could not be opened

  • Manifest XML signature is not valid

  • The profile for the user is a temporary profile

Please rate and validate this problem at the MSDN Microsoft Product Feedback Center so Microsoft responds with a solution or workaround.

Hi,

Do you know if there is a workaround for this?

Thanks in advance.

No, none other than changing the profile so it's no longer mandatory. :(

I am also running into this problem. I will validate it at the feedback center.

Please post any further developments and I will do the same.

Thank you.

The feedback center says this issue was resolved on 4/19/2007. However, I just confirmed that this problem also exists in Visual Basic 2008 Express Beta 2.

George, do you understand why the feedback center lists this as resolved?

Thank you.
